SiteCast is happy to share the news that The Ottawa Hospital Foundation has exceeded its 20-20 Campaign goal of raising $20 million in 20 months for the cancer centre at the General Campus.
During an event held at the new Cancer Centre, the Foundation announced that more than $24.5 million was raised in support of the expansion.
The milestone was made possible by the many local businesses and community leaders who donated their time and money, including those companies who took part in the Colonnade Challenge. With the generous support of its colleagues and suppliers, SiteCast Construction, along with the Colonnade group, was able to raise $564,000 for the campaign.
The success of the campaign has enabled The Ottawa Hospital to:
- Centralize nine radiation machines at the General Campus.
- Add 15 new chemotherapy chairs, for a total of 50.
- Offer more natural light, a comfortable environment, and access to outdoor areas to patients, families and staff which will help the recovery process.
The expansion of the Cancer Centre also received a boost from government funding. Every dollar that was donated to the 20-20 Campaign triggered a $2.30 government contribution. This resulted in an $80.5 million investment in cancer care at The Ottawa Hospital.
