OTTAWA, Canada, November 25, 2011 — SiteCast Construction congratulates Algonquin College on its new Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE). The centre which is celebrating its grand opening today will offer state-of-the-art facilities for construction trades training.
SiteCast Construction, the leader in concrete tilt-up building solutions, donated $100,000 to the Centre.
“On behalf of the entire College community I would like to thank SiteCast Construction Corporation for their support and commitment to this project,” says Claude Brulé, Dean, Faculty of Technology and Trades. “We have had tremendous support from the entire construction industry, our community partners, and all levels of government. The Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence would not have been possible without this collaboration and commitment.”
The new centre has a capacity for 2,500 full-time and 5,000 part-time students. The facility has been built to the exacting standards of LEED Platinum Certification and is a showpiece for sustainable construction practices. On the sustainability front, the building features one of Ottawa’s largest extensive green roofs, solar technologies, an integrated transit system and a five-story bio-wall to help with indoor air quality.
